How to wipe your computer memory and hard drive clean of data and information before throwing out your old PC, Server or laptop

What is an electromagnetic pulse? Is that like an EMP charge you get from a nuclear explosion? If it is I could see how it would wipe all the data of the hard disk but wouldn’t it also level your recycling center?
Yes it is like an EMP apart from its created using very powerful electromagnets not a nuclear bomb. It's totally harmless to humans (with the exception of people with pacemakers) but devastating to watches, cell phones, and electronics and computer hard drives. It's one of the best and fastest methods of wiping hard drives and data disks of data, files and software.
